Indictment prepared against Aida Shakarami
The indictment prepared against Aida Shakarami, sister of Nika Shakarami, has been approved by Branch 1030 of Tehran Criminal Court, her lawyer Reza Shafakhah announced on Thursday.
News Center- The indictment prepared against the elder sister of Nika Shakarami, a 16-year-old girl who was killed during the 2022 anti-government protests in Iran, has been approved by Branch 1030 of Tehran Criminal Court.
Aida Shakarami will stand trial on charges of “encouraging prostitution and corruption” and “Disobeying officers while performing their duty”. “The case of my client, Ms. Aida Shakarami was referred to Branch 1030 of Tehran Criminal Court,” said Nika Shakarami’s lawyer Reza Shafakhah on X today.
According to the post of Reza Shafakhah, the first hearing of the trial against Aida Shakarami will be held on July 4, 2024.
Nika Shakarami was arrested by morality police in Tehran on April 17, 2024 for “not adhering to compulsory hijab”. She was released from prison on bail on April 23.
