General strike in Mahabad

People in Iran and Rojhelat Kurdistan keep protesting the Iranian regime. Today, the people of Mahabad go on a general strike to protest the crackdown on protesters by the regime.

Mahabad - The protests that sparked in Iran and Rojhelat Kurdistan following the killing of Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini continue to spread. In Mahabad, city of Rojhilat Kurdistan, shopkeepers and merchants announced a general strike. Today, they have kept their shutters down to condemn the killings of protesters by Iranian regime forces.

A Kurdish young person named Fayeq Mam Qadri (37) was seriously injured by Iranian regime forces while protesting the regime on October 13. After fighting for his life in a coma for 25 days, he passed away at a hospital in Urmia. The people took his dead body and sent him to Mahabad.

Hundreds of people in Mahabad held a demonstration to protest the killing of Fayeq Mam Qadri. The protesters chanted slogans such as, “Martyrs are immortal”, “Revenge” and “Your name is great Kurdistan, shaking the enemy”. As the protests spread in the city, shopkeepers and merchants announced a general strike. Today, they have kept their shutters down to condemn and protest the killings of protesters by Iranian regime forces.
