Gaza Death Toll Reaches 73,419 as Israeli War Continues
The Gaza Health Ministry reports the death toll from Israel's ongoing war has reached 73,419 killed and 174,364 wounded, with 90% of civilian infrastructure destroyed.
News Center — The war on Gaza continues to leave a vast human toll and a collapse in humanitarian conditions, with rising numbers of casualties and the displacement of thousands of families amid the destruction of infrastructure and severe shortages of food and medicine, while calls for a ceasefire and safe corridors are escalating.
The Gaza Health Ministry announced today, Saturday, August 22, that the death toll from the Israeli genocide has risen to 73,419, following the killing of two Palestinians in the past 48 hours.
In its statistical report, the ministry noted that hospitals received two Palestinian casualties and four injured during that period, while a number of victims remain under rubble and on roads, unreachable by ambulance and civil defense crews.
The ministry did not clarify the circumstances of the Palestinians' deaths, as Israeli forces continue their violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025. It noted that the toll of Israeli violations since the agreement came into force has risen to 1,285 killed and 4,252 wounded.
Thus, the death toll from Israel's genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,419 killed and 174,364 wounded. In addition to the casualties, most of whom are children and women, Israel has destroyed approximately 90 percent of civilian infrastructure in the Strip.
