‘France must reveal who is responsible for the massacre’
Kurdish, Arab, Syriac and Armenian people of Hasakah held a march to condemn the massacre against Kurds in Paris.
Hasakah- Hundreds of people held a march led by Kongra Star in Hasakah to condemn the massacre carried out against Kurds in Paris on December 23. The people demanded France to reveal whoever is responsible for the massacre.
Artists, singers and members of the Culture and Art Movement in Hasakah Canton also joined the march. Chanting slogans such as “Death to fascism”, “Resistance is life” and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life Freedom”, the marchers held the photos of those who were killed in the massacre.
The march started at the Sînalok Square in the Til Hacer neighborhood of Hasakah turned into a rally in front of the “Leader's Garden” built for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in the Hasakah’s Nasra neighborhood.
‘The French government is responsible’
After a minute’s silence for those who were killed in the massacre, Zozan Gül, coordinating member of the Kongra Star made a speech. “This is the second massacre in Paris. We demand whoever is responsible for both massacres be brought to book. A second massacre was committed while the anniversary of the first massacre against three Kurdish women was very close. The aim of these massacres is to break the will of Kurdish women. We see the French government responsible for these massacres,” she said in her speech.
‘Exhibit a clear attitude’
In her speech, Farhan Etiya, member of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM), condemned both massacres and called on human rights organizations and all friends of the Kurdish people to exhibit a clear attitude against the massacres. She also called to push the French government to shed light on the massacres.
Evin Paşo, chair of the Cizîrê Region Women's Committee, called on the French government to find out whoever is responsible for the massacre, “Whoever is responsible must be brought to book,” she said.
