Former Afghan lawmaker shot dead at home
Former Afghan MP Mursal Nabizada was reportedly shot dead on Sunday by unknown assailants at her home in Kabul.
News Center- Former Afghan MP Mursal Nabizada, one of the female parliamentarians who stayed in Afghanistan after the Taliban seized power in August 2021, was reportedly shot dead on Sunday by unknown assailants at her home in Kabul.
Kabul police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said that Mursal Nabizada, along with one of her bodyguards, was shot dead at her home on Sunday and that an investigation has started into the incident by the security forces. Mursal Nabizada’s brother and a second security guard were reportedly wounded.
Mursal Nabizada was elected in 2019 to represent Kabul and stayed in office until the Taliban takeover in 2021. She was a member of the parliamentary defence commission and worked at a private non-governmental group, the Institute for Human Resources Development and Research.
