“Everyone should oppose to the use of chemical weapons”
TAJÊ member Edol Hecî condemned Turkey for using chemical weapons in its attacks on the Kurdistan Region and called on everyone to oppose to the use of chemical weapons.
Shengal - Turkey has carried out attacks on the Kurdistan Region for seven months. It has used heavy weapons and chemical weapons in its attacks, according to the reports from the region. In an interview with NuJINHA, Edol Hecî, member of the Yazidi Free Women's Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzîdî-TAJÊ), condemned the use of chemical weapons by Turkey in the Kurdistan Region and called on everyone to oppose to use of chemical weapons.
“We will never forget what we faced”
Pointing to the KDP's betrayal in the attacks against the Yazidi community and the people of Kurdistan, Edol Hecî said, “As Yazidi women, we will never forget the genocide against us on August 3, 2014. We will never forget the KDP’s betrayal. The KDP forces left our people unprotected against ISIS. When the KDP turned its back on us and our children, the guerrillas fought ISIS to defend our community. No one stood by us except the guerrillas. They shared their food with us. They carried out mothers. We will say that we and Kurdistan are one to the end. Genocidal attacks are carried against Kurdistan as well as against us. The Halabja massacre was one of these genocidal attacks. The explosions in Siba Sheikh Khidir and Til Ezer were also genocidal attacks. We will never forget these genocidal attacks on us. We will never forget the women abducted by ISIS.”
“Everyone should oppose to the use of chemical weapons”
“As the Yazidi community, we always stand by the guerrillas,” Edol Hecî said, “We condemn the attacks of Erdoğan and use of chemical weapons against the guerrillas. The guerrilla forces are the most sacred forces in the world. They saved and helped us. We will never forget the reality faced by us.” Pointing to the KDP’s betrayal and its cooperation with Turkey, Edol Hecî said that everyone should oppose the use of chemical weapons.
“We will not give up free thought”
Speaking about how Turkey supported ISIS, she said, “ISIS members were trained by Turkey. The genocide against us was a policy of Turkey. The Iraqi government also turned its back on us. Later, a border was built between us and Rojava. Then, they transferred the families of ISIS to Mosul from here. But we will never bow to this policy. We will not give up our faith; we will not give up free thought. There is only one way for us; it is resistance.” She also called on people to stand by their children.
