Emine Şenyaşar not to hold her protest until October 6

Yesterday, Emine Şenyaşar underwent a surgery on her knees in Ankara. Her son Ferit Şenyaşar has announced that his mother’s surgery went well and that they will not hold their protest until October 6.

News Center- On June 14, 2018, the relatives and bodyguards of former AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız attacked the Şenyaşar family and killed Emine Şenyaşar’s husband and two sons in the Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa) province.

Since then, Emine Şenyaşar has been seeking justice for her relatives and jailed son by holding a sit-in protest first in front of the Urfa Courthouse and now in front of Turkey’s Ministry of Justice. Yesterday, she underwent a surgery on her knees in Ankara.

Her son Ferit Şenyaşar, Green Left Party Riha MP, gave information about the health condition of his mother Emine Şenyaşar on the family’s social media account. “She is in pain. She will stay in the hospital for 5-6 days. We will not hold our protest until October 6, when we return to Riha in order to attend the hearing of the murder trial,” said the social media post.
