Deterioration of Elaheh Fouladi’s health in Qarchak Prison

Elaheh Fouladi, a political prisoner held in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, suffers from a heart condition yet is being denied necessary medical care and transfer to a hospital.

News Center – Elaheh Fouladi, who suffers from heart complications, has seen her health deteriorate under harsh prison conditions in Iran. Despite her worsening condition, she has not been granted access to proper medical treatment.

Fouladi was first arrested with her husband by Iranian security forces on January 23, 2020, at Imam Khomeini Airport. She was transferred to Evin Prison and later released on bail in late July 2020 after the investigation concluded.

Subsequently, the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced her to eight years in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion through communication with the People’s Mojahedin Organization” and “propaganda against the regime.”

On December 12, 2023, Fouladi was re-arrested to serve her sentence and transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

Following the Israeli missile strike that targeted Evin Prison in June 2025, Iranian authorities relocated several female political prisoners, to Qarchak Prison in Varamin.
