Dengbêj Xalide forcibly detained in Istanbul
Police raided the house of Dengbêj Xalide in Istanbul. She was reportedly battered and detained by police.
News Center- Police raided the house of Dengbêj Xalide located in the Okmeydanı neighborhood of Istanbul in the morning. After the search at her home, Dengbêj Xalide, a musician of the Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM), was forcibly detained.
According to the received reports, police raided her house as part of an investigation launched against her. While the door of her house was broken by riot police and she was battered by them.
The riot police also reportedly broke her saz, a string musical instrument, and confiscated books, magazines, and a notebook containing musical notes.
Dengbêj refers to a musician who performs traditional Kurdish folk songs.
