Courses for children in Shahba
Afrin-Shehba Education and Training Board has held courses supporting children's success at school.

Shahba- Since July 15, the Afrin-Shehba Education and Training Board has held courses in order to increase literacy levels of students and teach them many subjects such as science, math and social subjects. The children attending the courses learn Arabic, Kurdish, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and math.
In the Shahba Canton, A total of 13,622 students receive education in their mother language in 68 schools. 600 students with learning difficulties have attended the courses started by the Afrin-Shehba Education and Training Board. The students attending the courses and their teachers say that the level of education has increased thanks to the courses.
Teniya Memo, an Arabic language teacher, told NuJINHA that the board decided to hold courses for students because education was disrupted due to the February 6 earthquakes and the ongoing Turkish attacks. “Students have an opportunity to improve their education performance. Such courses increase the education level of students. All students can attend the courses. We decided to hold courses in summer due to power cuts in winter,” she said.
‘The courses will improve our education level’
Darîn Memo, a 10th grade student attending the courses, told us that they are happy to attend the courses, “We will be ready for the new academic year. The education we receive here is important for us. After we demanded our teachers to open courses for us, they opened these courses.”
Sendî Hibo, another student attending the courses, thanked the Education and Training Board for providing courses to them and said, “The courses will improve our education level. We have learned many subjects at the courses.”
