‘Hoping for a better future’
KESK Central Executive Board member Döne Gevher made a short speech saying, “This earthquake was not just an earthquake; it was part of a chain of neglect. We hope not to face such a chain of neglect again while healing wounds. Tomorrow is Newroz. We were thinking of welcoming it by lighting fires. Maybe we would dance around the Newroz fire. However, we welcome Newroz with a commemoration in Narlı. Today, we hold a commemoration ceremony, hoping for a better future not to experience such pain again.”
