Call for unity from women of Kurdistan Region

Women of Kurdistan Region, who celebrated World Kobanê Day yesterday, told us that the Kurdish people must unite to achieve freedom and success.

Sulaymaniyah- The resistance of the YPG/YPJ fighters in Kobanê against ISIS became hope for the whole world. On 1st November of 2014, millions of people around the world took to the streets to express their solidarity with the heroic resistance of Kobanê. Since then, November 1 has been celebrated as World Kobanê Day. The women, who celebrated the World Kobanê Day in the Kurdistan Region, called on the Kurdish people for unity against their enemy.

“The Kurdish people resisted for all peoples”

Şadî Serdar from Sulaymaniyah said that the Kurdish people can achieve freedom and success if they unite. “The Kurdish people resisted not only for the Kurdish people but also for all peoples in the world. The Kurdish people always achieve freedom and success with the support of women,” she said.

“Women have succeeded”

Emphasizing the unity of the Kurdish people, Aştî Behadîn noted that without unity and solidarity among the Kurds, there would be no peace. “On the 1st of November, World Kobanê Day, the Kurdish people must renew their support for the freedom fighters and the revolution of the Kurdish people.”

“The Kurds should raise voices against occupation”

Perwîn Silêman thinks all Kurdish people must celebrate World Kobanê Day. “The Kurds won the victory after waging great resistance. The Kurds should raise their voices against occupation. A revolution is possible if it is led by women and men. Our people should take to the streets to protest the attacks in all parts of Kurdistan.”
