“Berfin” film screened in Qamishlo

Berfin, a film telling the story of a Kurdish family facing brutal practices of the Turkish state in the 1990s, was screened in the city of Qamishlo, on Monday.

Qamishlo (Qamishli)- Berfin, a film telling the story of a Kurdish family facing brutal practices of the Turkish state in the 1990s, was screened in the city of Qamishlo, northeastern Syria, on Monday.

 The film tells the oppressive practices by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people in the 1990s. The film is based on memories of Berfin, a young female guerrilla whose father was killed and her mother was arrested by the Turkish forces in the 90s.

Directed by Özlem Arzeba, the film has been screened at many film festivals in European countries and other countries.
