News Center- The Swiss BastA! Party has expressed its support to the “I want to visit Abdullah Öcalan” campaign started by the European Forum for Freedom and Peace (EFFP).

 Franziska Stier, the Secretary General of the Swiss BastA! Party, sent a letter to Türkiye’s Ministry of Justice on June 7, 2025, requesting to visit Abdullah Öcalan in the prison island of Imrali.

In her letter, Franziska Stier pointed to the “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 27, 2025, stressing that the call had a significant influence on the international community.

The call offers “a historical opportunity for the construction of a livable world,” Franziska Stier wrote in her letter. “We cannot properly understand Mr. Öcalan’s thoughts without making contact with him,” she said, adding that the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan should take place without any restrictions.
