Attack on photos of Kurdish journalists killed in Turkish drone strike

The signboard showing the photographs of Gulistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn, two Kurdish journalists killed in a Turkish drone strike in the Saidsadiq district of Sulaymaniyah on December 23, 2024, was attacked and broken down.

News Center- On February 10, a street in the Saidsadiq district of Sulaymaniyah, a city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, was named after Gulistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn, who were killed in a Turkish drone strike, targeting their vehicle near Saidsadiq on December 23, 2024.

On Monday, a commemoration ceremony was held in the street, where Gulistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn had been killed, with the participation of a number of journalists and activists. At the commemoration, a signboard showing the photographs of Gulistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn, was hung and the street was named after the journalists.

The signboard was attacked and broken down by unknown persons on Wednesday. No official statement has yet been released about the attack.
