At least 40 killed in Israeli attack on tent camp

At least 40 people were killed, 60 others were injured in an Israeli attack on a tent camp for displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis where displaced Palestinians had sought shelter in southern Gaza.

News Center- The Israeli army targeted displaced Palestinians again. At least three Israeli missiles targeted a tent camp for displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza in the early morning on Tuesday.

At least 40 displaced Palestinians were killed, 60 others were injured in Israeli missile attack on a tent camp located in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, Gaza’s Civil Defense said in a statement on Tuesday, adding that at least 20 tents caught fire and missiles caused craters as deep as nine meters.

The Israeli army designated al-Mawasi area as a “safe zone” during its ground invasions of Khan Younis and nearby Rafah.

Ambulance and civil defense teams are having difficulty retrieving the bodies of people killed in the attack, the spokesperson of the Civil Defense said. Rescue workers continue their searches, the Government Media Office in Gaza said.
