Ankara- Journalists Dicle Müftüoğlu and Nezahat Doğan have applied to the Turkish Ministry of Justice, requesting to interview Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in the prison island of Imrali about the recent discussions on the resolution of the Kurdish question.
“As journalists, we follow up the discussions on the resolution of the Kurdish question,” said Dicle Müftüoğlu, Co-Chair of the Dicle Fırat Journalists Association. “Many groups have released statements about the Kurdish question; however, we, as journalists, do not have the opportunity to directly interview Abdullah Öcalan. We have limited information from the delegations that have gone to the prison. Therefore, we, as women journalists, applied to interview PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, the main actor of this process, in order to learn his thoughts about the process and the resolution of the Kurdish question.”
Dicle Müftüoğlu also called on all journalists to apply in order to do journalism that is more objective.
