News Center-The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) has declared the Akitu Festival, which is annually celebrated by Syriac people (Assyrian people) on the first day of April, as a public holiday. All official institutions and organizations will be closed on the first two days of April.

 

The Akitu is one of the oldest festivals in the world. It is a spring festival and New Year's celebration held on the first day of April by Syriac people. This year, the Syriac people will celebrate the festival for the 6775th time.
