Airstrikes launched on NE Syria after pointed as target by Turkey’s Foreign Minister

Airstrikes have been launched on North and East Syria after Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.claimed that the assailants behind Ankara’s attack had received training in Syria.

News Center- Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a statement following the attack that took place in front of the General Directorate of Security of Turkey’s Ministry of the Interior in Ankara on October 1. Claiming that the assailants had received training in Syria, Hakan Fidan stated that they would target infrastructure, superstructure facilities and power plants in North and East Syria.

‘Turkey is trying to legitimize its attacks’

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander Mazloum Abdi firmly dismissed on Wednesday the claims of Turkish officials that the assailants behind Ankara’s attack had received training in Syria. “The attackers have not passed through our region as Turkish officials claim, and we are not party to Turkey’s internal conflict nor we encourage escalation. Turkey is trying to legitimize its ongoing attacks on SDF-held areas and to launch a new military aggression against the region,” he said on X platform.

Call on the guarantor parties and the international community.

 Mazloum Abdi said that the threats are a “war crime” and called on the guarantor parties and the international community to “take appropriate positions to these frequent threats and to ensure peace and stability in the region.”

 Airstrikes on North and East Syria

After the statement of Hakan Fidan, the Turkish warplanes launched a new round of airstrikes against North and East Syria yesterday. In addition, a Turkish drone targeted a tiles manufacturing plant in the Sefiye town of Haskaha three times.

The Press Department of the Internal Security Forces released a statement about the Turkish drone attack on the plant. The statement said:

“The Turkish occupation state continues to implement its hostile policies against our region and   sabotage the security and stability of our region. Today, a Turkish drone targeted a tiles manufacturing plant in the Sefiye town of Hasakah, injuring four civilians. The injured civilians were transferred to the hospital.”

Airstrikes on surroundings of IDPs camps

Today, Turkish warplanes targeted the Mişêrfa Himê hamlet located near Hasakah- Til Temir road. According to local sources, three civilians were injured in the attack. The local sources also reported that Turkish warplanes have targeted the infrastructure, superstructure facilities and power plants in Hasakah Canton and the surroundings of the Washokani camp, a IDPs camp.

The Turkish warplanes also targeted a vehicle near the villages of Til Hebeş and Tel Habaş, south of Amuda town. Casualties have been reported from the region.
