A Special Committee Established for Education Development in Suwayda
In Suwayda, following demonstrations organized by students and teachers demanding an urgent solution for high school exams, a special committee was established to operate in the field of higher education.

News center- For several days, protests have been held in front of the Education Directorate building in Suwayda, led by students and teachers. During the demonstrations, banners calling for a resolution to the crisis were displayed.
Most recently, demonstrators went to the Suwayda Governor’s Office and met with the Higher Legal Committee. Students expressed their concerns about the suspension of exams and the educational process.
Since the Syrian Interim Government forces launched an attack on Suwayda province, exams in the province have been suspended. The situation has become more difficult, especially due to the ongoing siege of Suwayda.
Students emphasized that exams are their legitimate right and demanded that education be kept away from political issues. During the protests, students displayed banners in both Arabic and English, calling on international organizations, particularly UNESCO, to intervene and stop the decision to halt exams.
In the meeting with representatives of the demonstrators, the Legal Committee stated that it would convey the students’ demands to international organizations, noting that the Interim Government was preventing the exams from taking place.
At the same time, it was announced that a special committee for higher education has been established. This committee will work to protect university students and develop the city’s universities, as well as to secure financial support.
According to sources in educational institutions, the Education Directorate is studying the timing of the exams. It is expected that the high school exams will be held soon without the approval of the Syrian Interim Government, which has not yet made a statement on the issue.
