Şenyaşar family: We also demand justice for laborers
Drawing attention to the International Workers’ Day, the Şenyaşar family said, “We also demand justice for laborers.”
Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 770th day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from their home in Pirsûs to seek justice again by unfurling their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”.
Making a speech in front of the courthouse, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “Today is the International Workers’ Day. We also demand justice for laborers. We will be the voice of 301 miners, who were killed in Soma. We will keep struggling. Our struggle is growing day by day and the government that causes this injustice and unlawfulness will go. We will bring justice and peace to Türkiye together.”
*301 miners were killed in a blast at Eynez coal mine in Manisa’s Soma district on May 13, 2014.
