Şenyaşar family to seek justice in Ankara and Urfa

Ferit Şenyaşar, who has been elected as Green Left Party Urfa MP, says he will seek justice in Ankara while his mother Emine Şenyaşar will keep seeking justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse.

Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 787th day.

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from their home in Pirsûs to seek justice again by unfurling their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”.

Ferit Şenyaşar was elected as Green Left Party Urfa MP in the parliamentary elections held in Turkey on May 14, 2023. Making a speech in front of the courthouse, Ferit Şenyaşar thanked everyone who supported their struggle for justice.

 They will seek justice in Ankara and Urfa

In his speech, Ferit Şenyaşar said that he will seek justice in the parliament while his mother Emine Şenyaşar will keep seeking justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse. “I will be the voice of all people in the parliament. I will stand against those who do not hear our cry for justice. I will shout this injustice to the faces of those who tried to prevent our struggle for justice.”
