Şenyaşar family seeks justice for 805 days
Green Left Party Urfa MP Ferit Şenyaşar stated that if Turkey’s new Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç does not fulfill his duty, they will unfurl their banner demanding justice in the parliament.
Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 805th day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, Green Left Party Urfa MP, went in front of the Urfa Courthouse by unfurling their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”. Recalling that he continues his struggle for justice in Ankara after he was elected as a MP from the Green Left Party, Ferit Şenyaşar said that he came in front of the Urfa Courthouse today to support his mother Emine Şenyaşar.
‘Our struggle for justice continues in front of the courthouse where justice is lost’
Recalling that they have been seeking justice for 805 days, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “We keep struggling for justice for five years. Our struggle for justice continues in front of the courthouse where justice is lost. From now on, I will continue our struggle for justice in Ankara. My mother will continue our struggle for justice in front of the courthouse until justice prevails.”
‘New Justice Minister should do what is necessary'
Yılmaz Tunç has been appointed as Minister of Justice in the new cabinet by President Erdoğan. Calling on new Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “We call on him not to accept congratulations because there is a general injustice in the country. There is the law of the superiors in Turkey, the biggest of these injustices happen in front of the Urfa Courthouse. All the officials we talked to before said, 'the truth will be revealed when the time comes’. They must fulfill their duties now. All the facts are obvious. We are told all the records of security cameras of the hospital were stolen. We know that the records exist and that they are in the archive of the state. Anyone, who prevents the truth from being revealed, is a party to this crime. If the new Minister of Justice does not do what is necessary, my mother and I will unfurl the banner that we unfurl here in the Parliament in Ankara. We will also hang it on the door of the ministry. Justice too long delayed is justice denied.”
