Şenyaşar family: ‘JUSTICE’ is stuck between two official vehicles

“In front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse, ‘JUSTICE’ is stuck between two official vehicles,” the Şenyaşar family posted today, on the 647th day of their sit-in protest for justice.

Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 647th day.

Intolerance to the banner reading, “Justice”

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the Urfa Courthouse to demand justice for their killed relatives again. For a week, several official vehicles were parked in front of the Şenyaşar family’s banner reading, “Justice #JusticefortheŞenyaşarFamily”, so the family hung their banner on their car. When Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse, they saw that the parking space was closed. Thereupon, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar held the banner in front of the courthouse to demand justice.

Reacting to the situation, the Şenyaşar family wrote on their social media account, “In front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse, ‘JUSTICE’ is stuck between two official vehicles. This situation shows the inability of the judiciary, which cannot ensure justice. Life without justice is impossible. We will keep demanding justice.”
