Şenyaşar family demands justice at book fair
The Şenyaşar family has attended the CNR Mersin Book Fair on the 600th day of their sit-in protest. At the fair, a book signing was held for the book entitled “Justice” written by Ali Oruç about the struggle of Emine Şenyaşar.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 600th day. Today, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar have attended the 7th CNR Mersin Book Fair. At the book fair, a book signing was held for the book entitled “Justice” written by Ali Oruç. The book tells the struggle of Emine Şenyaşar for justice. The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Mersin MP Fatma Kurtalan, HDP Mersin Provincial Co-chair Hoşyar Sarıyıldız and many people attended the book signing event. A banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone” was hung on the booth of the publishing house. HDP MP Fatma Kurtalan and Ferit Şenyaşar signed the books for readers.
“We will not sit at home”
“There is a great injustice, everyone sees it. But seeing is not insufficient, we will not sit at home until this injustice disappears. We are at the CNR Mersin Book Fair with our slogan RIGHT! LAW! JUSTICE!" The Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
