7 HDP members detained in Istanbul

Police conducted house raids in Istanbul and detained seven people, including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul Youth Council members and district administrators.

Istanbul - In the morning, police conducted house raids against Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul Youth Council members and district administrators as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Seven people, including HDP Youth Council members and district administrators have been detained. The name of detained people are: HDP Party Council member Livan Orman, HDP Beşiktaş district Co-chair Orhan Özöner, HDP Youth Council members Arjin Emektar, Ahmet Bayazıt, Roj Medrin Bor, Mehmet Salih Dikmen and İsmail Toptamur.

While detained seven people have been taken to the Istanbul Security Directorate, an 24-hour attorney access restriction has been issued.
