5 Kurdish activists arrested in Iran
Five Kurdish activists have been arrested into custody in Iran’s Piranshahr city upon the order of the prosecution.
News Center- Five Kurdish activists were taken into custody in Iran, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported on Tuesday.
The five Kurdish activists identified as Somayyeh Ghaderi, Hossein Bayazidi, Mohammad Soltani, Mohammad Moradi and Hadi Yousefpour were arrested in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province, in recent days, and taken them to undisclosed locations, the network said.
According to the network, Somayyeh Ghaderi is from the village of Gazgasak, Mohammad Soltani from the village of Khorenj, Mohammad Moradi from the village of Bikus, and Hossein Bayazidi from Piranshahr were arrested on May 6.
Additionally, a person identified as Yousefpour, a member of the Koranic School, was arrested in a raid on his home in Piranshahr on 1 May.
The reasons for their arrests are reportedly still unknown.
