2,520 women subjected to violence in two months in Southern Kurdistan
2,520 women were subjected to violence in the last two months in Southern Kurdistan, Ervil ranked first in recording the highest number of crimes against women, according to the Directorate of Combatting Violence Against Women.
News Center- More women are subjected to violence, harassment, and rape in Southern Kurdistan every passing day. 1,626 women were subjected to violence in Southern Kurdistan in August; 894 women were subjected to violence in July, according to the report released by the Directorate of Combatting Violence Against Women.
Erbil ranked first
In July, 894 women were subjected to violence, one woman was killed, five women were driven into suicide, and three women died due to combustible materials, 14 women were subjected to sexual assault. 871 women filed complaints about being subjected to violence. Erbil ranked first in recording the highest number of crimes against women in July; 296 women were subjected to violence in Erbil, 250 in Duhok, 212 in Sulaymaniyah, 83 in Germiyan, 25 in Raperin, and 28 in Soran.
1626 women subjected to violence in August
According to the report, 1626 women were subjected to violence in August; three women were killed, three women were claimed to kill themselves, four women died due to combustible materials, nine women were subjected to sexual assault. 729 women were subjected to violence in Erbil, 356 in Duhok, 329 in Sulaymaniyah, 116 in Germiyan, 36 in Raperin, and 41 in Soran.
