News Center- The Iranian regime keeps using violence against supporters of the protests that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police”. Sonia Sharifi, a 17-year-old student from Abdanan, Ilam province, was tortured and abused by Iranian government forces after being kidnapped on August 9, 2023. 

After being threatened, interrogated, and tortured for more than two hours, Sonia Sharifi was left alone in one of the streets of Abdanan. She posted a picture of her injured forehead on her Instagram page.

On November 19, 2022, Sonia Sharifi was arrested by Iranian government forces. She was temporarily released on bail from Ilam Central Prison on December 15, 2022, after a month in detention.
