PADÊ holds election rally in Shengal

Êzidî Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ) held an election rally in Shengal for the upcoming Iraqi general elections. Semir Şêx Derwiş, a candidate of the PADÊ, made a speech and called on Yazidis to support the party.

Shengal- Yesterday, the Êzidî Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ) held an election rally in Shengal for the Iraqi general elections to be held on October 10. The party’s flags were hung everywhere and women attending the rally wore their local dresses.

Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) member Şeme Remo made a speech and called on people to cast their votes for those who lost their lives while protecting Shengal. “We are alive thanks to them. Every family lost at least one member. The Iraqi government and KDP haven’t cared about us until now. They remember us only for asking for our votes. Our candidate is from our community. She will work for us. We should get our rights. Vote for the candidate of the PADÊ. Our people living in the refugees camps in Southern Kurdistan should vote for the PADÊ. They should vote for the representative of their community.”

“I will protect the values”

Şêx Semîr Derwiş, the candidate of the PADÊ, also made a speech and promised to protect the values of people. “We will respond to the October 9 agreement signed between Erbil and Baghdad against Shengal.”
