First aid training by Peoples’ Municipality of Tell Tamer

The Peoples’ Municipality of Tell Tamer town of Hasakah has been holding first aid training courses for its employees against the ongoing Turkish attacks. The municipality plans to hold self-defense courses.

Hasakah- Since the Autonomous Administration declared a state of emergency in North and East Syria against the Turkish attacks, the people, organizations and institutions have made preparations to protect their region against the attacks. The Peoples’ Municipality of Tell Tamer, town of Hasakah, has been holding first aid training courses for its employees. Îbrahîm Mehmûd, a doctor of the Martyr Lêgerîn Hospital teaches the municipal employees how to bandage a wound, stop bleeding, take temperature, measure blood pressure and check heart rate.

“We learn emergency first aid skills”

NuJINHA spoke to Nadiya Xerîb, Co-mayor of the Peoples’ Municipality of Tell Tamer, about the training courses. Pointing to the importance of such training courses in war conditions, she said, “We learn emergency first aid skills. Now, we know what to do if a person is injured. NGOs and official institutions are targeted by the Turkish state almost every day. Everyone should know what to do in an emergency situation.”

Self-defense courses

Emphasizing that the municipality will also hold self-defense courses for the municipal employees, Nadiya Xerîb said, “We need to know how to protect ourselves, our friends, families and people. For this reason, we will hold self-defense courses soon. We will resist attacks. We will not leave our homeland. The international community should break its silence against the ongoing Turkish attacks in North and East Syria. The attacks of Erdoğan must be stopped.”
