Shiva Qadri follows her acting dreams

Shiva Qadri is a young actress from Sardasht. Speaking about her wishes, she said, “I wish the women of my country to be free and to have a space to follow their dreams.”

17-year-old Shiva Qadri, who lives in the Iranian Sardasht city, has been involved in acting and art since she was eight years old. She first acted in a short film entitled, “The Dreams of Colors” by Avat Mostafaei. After her performance in this film, she became very interested in acting. Then, she acted in a feature film directed by Avat Mostafaei. Emphasizing that women face many challenges while performing their art, she said, “Women actors must be supported.”
The challenges that women face in film industry
Speaking about the challenges that women face in film and theatre industries, Shiva Qadri said, “The theatre industry scares us due to the recent incidents; however, the film industry scares us more especially after the Me Too movement. The movement shows us that women working in this industry face discrimination.”
“We were well welcomed by the audience”
Shiva Qadri also talked about how her performance was well welcomed by the audience in the city. “When we began to work in the film industry, we were well welcomed by the audience. Young people are very interested in this industry after seeing our performance.
“I become happy when I see successful women”
One of Shiva’s wishes is the freedom of all women. “I wish the women of my country to be free and to have a space to follow their dreams. The happiness of girls and women around me makes me happy. I become happy when I see successful women and girls,” she told us.
