Suspicious death of Yasmin Aziz

Yasmin Aziz, who struggled for 34 days at a hospital due to severe burns on her body in Rıha, passed away at the hospital two days ago. Two men, who were at home on the day when Yasmin Aziz was seriously injured as a result of flammable materials, haven’t been reportedly questioned about the incident yet.

Rıha – While there is a serious increase in suspicious deaths of women as well as femicide in Turkey, the suspicious deaths of women are recorded as “suicide”. On December 7, 2021, 23-year-old Yasmin Aziz, mother of two, was seriously injured as a result of flammable materials at home located in the Bağlarbaşı neighborhood of Rıha’s Haliliye district after arguing with her husband. She was taken to a hospital. She struggled for her life for 34 days at the hospital but she passed away at the hospital two days ago. The mainstream press outlets reported her death as “suicide” although there are serious doubts about her death.

Some parts were sent to Adana for autopsy

After her death at the hospital, some parts of her body were reportedly sent to Adana Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the cause of her death. According to the autopsy report, Yasmin Aziz died due to severe burns. There are no other details in the report.

Her neighbors deny 'suicide' allegations

Yasmin Aziz’s neighbors don’t believe that she committed suicide. “Who can commit suicide in this way? Where did she find the flammable materials? Her death is a suspicious death. Her husband and his father should be questioned,” one of Yasmin Aziz’s neighbors told us.

An investigation was launched into the incident. According to the received reports, Yasmin Aziz’s husband and his father, who were at home when she was seriously injured, haven’t been questioned about the incident yet.
